Faringdon Infant School, Faringdon Junior School and Faringdon Community College applying for Academy Status
Faringdon Infant School, Faringdon Junior School and Faringdon Community College are looking at becoming a multi-academy trust called Faringdon Community Academy.
We have just completed a period of consultation with Students, Parents, Governors, Staff, Unions and the wider community. This took place from 30th November and concluded with a Public Meeting held at the Junior School on the evening of 12th January 2012. This webpage has been set up to provide information about what a multi-academy is, why we want to do it, what is involved in conversion and how the application is progressing. If you have any issues or questions that aren’t addressed here, please contact us on: email@example.com

FARINGDON COMMUNITY ACADEMY VISION
Delivering Educational Excellence
We are privileged to be the primary providers of education in Faringdon. As an integral part of our society, we seek to promote the town of Faringdon and wider community for the benefit of all. Faringdon will be synonymous with “Outstanding Schools” and the provision of Outstanding Education at all phases. The Faringdon Community Academy, representing Faringdon Infant School, Faringdon Junior School and Faringdon Community College, will represent the local community with a single stronger voice.
By sharing the expertise and best practice across all schools in the Academy, we will deliver exceptional “continuous professional development” for all staff, building on the already high levels of teaching and support staff expertise. Increased integration and co-operation will provide the catalyst for greater innovation, enhancing the curriculum and the quality of teaching and learning. The freedom afforded by multi-academy status will enable better ‘joined-up’ thinking and as a consequence significant enhancements in student progression and cross-phase, cross-school transition.
Faringdon Community Academy will shape the future for the provision of education in Faringdon and the surrounding community. We will strive for National recognition for an exceptional model of education for rural communities, anchored by an innovative curriculum and outstanding attainment.
